The Leadership  of YDP wishes to condemn in strongest terms unprovoked  xenophobic attacks on fellow Youths and citizens in faraway South Africa as well as on-going mindless killings at home, especially in Kaduna. YDP therefore wishes to implore the APC led government to be more proactive in saving lives and properties of Nigerians at various troubled spots within and outside Nigeria

"The Nigerian government must put measures in place in upholding  our constitution and laws towards providing  adequate security for Nigerian Youths and Citizens in general” .  Although, we appreciate that so much is already being done in other areas of concern, especially in depleting the strength of Boko Haram insurgents; we however note the increase in the spate of kidnappings across the country".

YDP believe in continuous transparency within agencies of government rather than fan the embers of partisan politicking among our leaders can encourage rampant and mostly unprovoked unlawful killings. The sense of insecurity always generated by these horrendous massacre of Nigerians has continually impacted negatively on the state of the economy

YDP Observations:
1. We find out that the level of education or lack of same may be a major factor in the xenophobic attacks on fellow youths and Nigerians in South Africa by South Africans. This fundamental reason attracts the feel of insecurity by young South Africans over their daily sustenance which is erroneously perceived to have been eroded by perhaps our more hardworking Nigerian youths.
2. The historical roles played by Nigerians and Nigeria towards the emancipation of the black South Africa may not have been well documented, archived and communicated.
3. The historical background of Kaduna State and job specifications of Governor El-Rufai is not an enviable one; Especially where the killings, which could also be politically influenced for selfish reasons have wasted potential leaders; created mistrust within our communities and left an agonizing vacuum for many of our families.

YDP’s proffer Solutions:
1. Create a South African Education Fund for the Youth (SEAFY); an Initiative strictly through the Nigerian government for the education of indigent South Africans in South Africa. This should be funded primarily by the South African Multinationals doing business in Nigeria. The fund should be channelled through the Nigerian Consulate in collaboration with NGO’s based in South Africa.
2. Government should look at our historical contributions towards the abolishment of apartheid in South Africa to form a more appropriate foreign policy on South Africa. Some of these contributions includes scholarships funds put together for South Africans by Nigeria and Nigerians to encourage the average South African to see a Nigerian residing in South Africa as a partner in development and not as competitors. The African Union and the South African government should be carried along in these processes to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
3. It is more important now for Governor El-Rufai to accept all criticisms in good faith with a view to finding more communities-involved solutions to the problems at hand and restart the economy surrounding southern Kaduna while reviving the hope of our teaming youths across the Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
